With over twenty years of legal experience, Brian Schechter focuses his practice on all phases of individual and corporate bankruptcies, creditor representation, complex bankruptcy litigation, real estate transactions, civil and family law litigation. He has represented clients in all phases of litigation in all courts of Long Island and New York City.
Brian Schechter has extensive appellate experience arguing cases and being on brief on various matters before the New York State Court of Appeals (People v. McKiernan, 84 N.Y. 2d 915; People v. Letterlough, 86 N.Y. 2d 259); Second Circuit Court of Appeals (Howard v. Senkowski, 986 F.2d 24); as well as many matters before the New York State Appellate Division, 2nd Department.
Mr. Schechter was admitted to practice law in the State of New York in 1991, as well as the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. He received his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School and a Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
Brian lives on Long Island with his wife and 2 children, where he has been involved in numerous community organizations.
